PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This conference will provide updates on new and developing concepts and technologies related to developmental and degenerative diseases of the nervous system. Selected topics will expand knowledge and offer strategies to assist clinicians and future clinicians particularly in the management of these diseases. Participants at the conference will learn practical information that they can implement in their practice and gain knowledge about cutting-edge research that will shape the future of diagnosing and treating persons with neurological disorders.

INTENDED AUDIENCE

This conference will provide education for physicians, residents, EMS providers, Coverdell stroke program members, neurology researchers, nurses, rehab professionals, medical and healthcare students, and interested members of the general public. Up to 6 hours of CE credit will be available for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, dentists, EMS providers.

  • The Complex Carbohydrate Research Center provides provides ample free parking for conference participants. The center is fully ADA compliant.
  • Presentations will be in the Auditorium. Breaks and exhibitors will be in the atrium. Lunch will be served in the dining area.
  • If you have special dietary needs or restrictions, please be sure to indicate them on your registration form.
  • If you wish to stay overnight in Athens, numerous hotels are available within a few minutes' drive of the center. The closest is the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Go to www.visitathensga.com for complete listings.

The address is 315 Riverbend Road, Athens, Georgia, 30602.

Take city streets or Ga. Loop 10 to College Station Road (Exit 7 on the Loop). If coming from the north (inner loop) turn left onto College Station and go 0.4 miles. If coming from the south (outer loop), turn right onto College Station and go 0.1 miles. Turn right on Riverbend Road and go 0.4 miles. The CCRC will be on your left. Note: bike lanes extend along College Station and Riverbend Road to the center. UGA buses do not serve the center on weekends.
